Tucked into an unassuming street in the city is a storefront, a sign with a simple red cross. This is the Jigokucho Community Clinic, merely called "the clinic" by those in the know. What makes it stand out in comparison to others that dot the landscape is that it is a place that treats all, regardless of faction, and accepts Lost Souls without batting an eye. Affordable, accessible healthcare, no matter who you are and where you come from.

Along with attending to illnesses and injuries, the clinic also offers the ability to compound specialized medicines for those that are in need. With a herbal garden in the back to assist, quality treatment can be maintained. The small fountain installed there is stocked with rainwater that can heal, carefully monitored and dispersed to cases that require it.

Since the clinic exists in a very grey area in regards to the factions, discretion is of the utmost priority for day to day operations, and drawing unwanted scrutiny to the place is to be avoided at all costs. Thus, all are expected to be on their best behavior when receiving and administering treatment. Confidentiality is held in high regard, and all staff have sworn an oath for their working hours to prioritize healing and care over faction orders and personal feelings.

Volunteers of all ages are accepted, but those underage must be taking some form of self defense training before the head doctor will sign off on their hours. The city is a volatile place, and she would prefer all were equipped with the methods to deal with it.

Role: Casual helper? Megumi comes over on a volunteer basis to help transport supplies or lift people, do some cleaning and organizing (which he is very good at), and make bland but healthy food for the patients. He's here to learn from Emily, so he watches intently during medical procedures and asks questions.
Qualifications: Basic first aid skills only. He might help with some bandaging but will not be qualified to do anything complex.

Qualifications: Formal combat first-aid training from the RCM, specializes in basic injuries and can perform minor surgeries (like bullet extractions) as well as sewing up wounds. Role: Volunteer, 'Logistics and Acquisitions' - aka a professional gofer for when the clinic needs something on short notice and someone needs to be called in to go run around town picking up this or that.

Role: Casual helper? Volunteer? He doesn't consistently show up, but helps for 1-2 days every couple of weeks on average. Works the reception/front desk as well as picks up a lot of the paperwork/administrative slack.
Qualifications: First-aid training. I headcanon that he's interned at clinics/hospitals before, so he has experience with medical admin which is why he's wrangling the paperwork monster.

Name: Kimmuriel Oblodra
Role: Volunteer probably? He can do bookkeeping, paperwork, cleaning, some extra transport (due to his portalling ability).
Qualifications: He has a fairly intricate knowledge of brain function, so he might be able to help with figuring out brain-related injuries and the like. He also has the ability to basically block the pain signals going to someone's brain, so if you need some emergency anesthetic he can hold it for a couple minutes.
Other than that he's not really a medical person.

Role: Medical Assistant? Intern? Imagine like a student doing their residency.
Qualifications: Two years of study at the Imperial University's Department of Medicine, plus the resources of the department's previous head of medicine. Knows a bit of surgery but don't expect him to be able to pull off any elaborate procedures yet. Willing to kick your ass if you don't take care of yourself.

Role: Doctor
Qualifications: A professor of forensic pathology (from 1900, so give him a sec to get to the ~continuing medical education~). He's more used to patients of the ummm dead variety, but he's still trained as a medical doctor and has more than enough experience in patching a certain someone and also himself up. Also studying poisons/antidotes lately!

Role: Volunteer/Helper. Carrying heavy things, cleaning up, running errands, etc. Nothing too fancy. He can also help with general organization and paperwork if given some instruction/training.
Qualifications: Just a good sword boy trying his best + secretarial sword stuff + government agent fluent in bureaucracy and paperwork (he wouldn't really explain the latter beyond "I do a lot of paperwork"). Knows basic first aid and gets hurt enough to know how to know how basic procedures and stuff should go.

Role: Medical assistant/volunteer? He's an apprentice back home, and he's more than willing to do administrative tasks like paperwork too if asked.
Qualifications: A year's worth of study and practice in herbal medicine, basic first aid and stitches, and has acted as an assistant during surgery. Has a slight lean to pediatrics due to his apprenticeship but god knows if it'll ever be relevant here.

Name: Shinobu Kochou
Role: Doctor but mostly physical therapist
Qualifications: Back home she ran a rehabilitation center/estate for severely wounded corp members. She acted as the main doctor there (but doesn’t have an actual medical degree since they weren’t recognized by the government) and was assisted by several members who acted as nurses. The main purpose of the estate was for members to regain their strength and receive care for as long as they needed before they were able to go back out into the field. In the estate she reserved many wards for patients who needed longtime care and conducted physical therapy sessions and meditative sessions as well. She worked with another doctor at one point to create antidotes specially made to counter a demon’s poisonous attributes.
