Mn... Not so much that as just, ah... a little more context, I guess? I can't say I've learned anything too substantial, or I would have made it more public.
[As in, her base assumption is still correct, from what little he knows.]
Anyway...I was told that it's the lack of support overtime that brings those spirits to a breaking point out there. A... social support, I mean, something with structure. So long as a similar being goes out there with others that they can rely on and trust to keep them... uh, "themselves"... then apparently it shouldn't be a problem.
[slowly, Emily nods, considering that in the larger picture.]
You say it's not substantial, but to me, that's terribly important. Thank you, Otegine, for now I know that no one should be going out alone. No one will lack the support they need during this excursion - even if they're new in this city, that doesn't mean they're alone.
[she smiles at him to punctuate it. it had been part of what she'd meant at that meeting, that the Alliance chose to work together, that people aren't going to simply be left like so much dust.]
[His smile back is hesitant and a little awkward, but genuine nonetheless. He wasn't expecting the thanks.]
It has a couple of us worried for those in the Lost Souls that aren't entirely human, especially if they're new to the city. How I found out was kind of from a friend of a friend, anyway, so I don't know if it's public knowledge.
But, still...! If it keeps us prepared for a worst-case scenario, it's all for the better, right?
[A beat, and his body language tenses up. This is normally such a taboo, one he shouldn't even TRY to think about discussing, but... the alternative would be so much worse, if things did go wrong.]
It's... why I didn't, uh.... why I didn't want to fully offer myself for assistance without your awareness.
[understanding passes over her, and she reaches to gently touch his arm. he's uncomfortable, she knows, and she wants to impart that she won't tell - this is his own to hold, to disclose if needed. she'll be aware, but nothing will change in how she treats him.]
I'd be honored to have your help with this. Frankly, I'm not much of a fighter at all, so if it comes to that, I'll need those I can rely on. My strength lies in healing - so whatever occurs, I'll make sure to take care of you.
[It's not as though he was expecting disgust or anything... but to not be considered a liability up front, to have a touch of something that makes his chest tighten in a way he can't really put words towards... it leaves him dumbfounded for a few seconds.]
If... i-if you're sure, then I--! [He lights up with excitement fresh in his eyes, only to bite it back down almost as fast as he thinks better of it. Okay, okay, tone it down a bit.]
I... uh... Thank you. Thank you, ma'am. [He clears his throat.] I... don't know if normal healing will work, but... I'll try to source things on my own for that. Maybe it'll be a little easier if I explain?

This... needs to stay between us, okay? Ryouma knows already, but...

I don't know how set in stone that is, though.

[she's used to privacy for medical reasons, anyway.]
